The Nexus Youth Services department provides a wide variety of programs and
activities that promote good health and well-being, positive leadership skills, and
effective substance abuse prevention.  The Nexus youth team works closely with
other local service providers and partners to offer meaningful services and support
for young people in our community.
 
Friday Night Live ~ Friday Night Live (FNL) is a youth leadership program with
active chapters at school campuses and other locations in Amador County. 
FNL builds partnerships for positive and healthy youth development.  FNL
activities include drug and alcohol prevention, problem gambling awareness,
teen tobacco use, and traffic safety.  For more information, please contact

Youth Empowerment Project ~ Youth Empowerment Project (YEP) staff provide
the Project SUCCESS program on school campuses.  Project SUCCESS teaches and
supports social competency skills such as positive communication and decision-
making, stress and anger management, drug and alcohol prevention, problem-
solving, and resisting peer pressure.  For more information, please contact

180° You-Turn ~ The 180° You-Turn program provides comprehensive services
for at-risk young people living in Amador County.  Referred youth participate in
weekly group meetings, attend monthly field trips, and work closely with an

Independent Living Program ~ Independent Living Program (ILP) staff provide
life skills instruction and case management services for youth in foster care,
non-minor dependents, and emancipated youth.  Referred youth participate
in a range of activities, classes, and field trips.  For more information, please

Child & Youth Advocacy (XY) Program ~ The XY Child & Youth Advocacy staff and
volunteers provide information & referral, assistance obtaining community resources,
advocacy, mentoring, and peer leadership development for child victims of

Family Connections ~ Family Connections is a service available by referral from Amador County Department of
Social Services for youth currently in foster care.  For more information, please contact Emma Swett at (209) 217-7148
